Mumbai: Tata Communications has officially appointed N Ganapathy Subramaniam (NGS) as the Chairman of its Board of Directors. His appointment follows the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, as stated in the company’s regulatory filing.
NGS, a veteran of the Tata Group, has been a pivotal figure in the growth of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) over the past four decades. Before stepping down in May 2024, he served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Executive Director at TCS, where he was instrumental in driving global operations and digital transformation initiatives. His leadership contributed significantly to TCS’s emergence as a global IT powerhouse.
Following his departure from TCS, NGS has continued to hold key positions within the Tata Group. He currently serves as the Chairman and Non-Executive Director at Tata Elxsi and Tejas Networks Limited, in addition to being a board member of multiple Tata Group companies.
With his extensive expertise in business strategy, operational excellence, and technology-driven solutions, NGS is expected to guide Tata Communications in its next phase of growth. His leadership will be crucial as the company expands its presence in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and next-generation networking solutions, reinforcing its position as a global leader in digital infrastructure and communication services.
