New Delhi: Finnish retail group Kesko has appointed Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as its strategic IT partner in a multi-year agreement aimed at accelerating digital transformation across eight countries in the Nordics and Baltics.
Under the partnership, TCS will deliver SAP S/4 transformation, application managed services, and digital development to support Kesko’s operations in grocery, car, building, and technical trades. The engagement places a strong focus on AI and automation, with TCS deploying its ignio™ AIOps platform and Rigor in Operations (RiO) framework to provide predictive monitoring and proactive resolution of issues across Kesko’s SAP and non-SAP systems. The programme also includes modernisation of SAP environments and support for digital applications across hybrid and multi-cloud ecosystems.
The collaboration reflects the broader push within the European retail sector to modernise supply chains, improve efficiency, and respond to evolving consumer behaviour shaped by inflationary pressures and competition from global e-commerce platforms. For Kesko, one of Northern Europe’s largest retailers, the deal is positioned as a step to enhance operational resilience while strengthening customer-facing digital services.
Kesko CIO Arto Hiltunen said the company is focused on improving efficiency, quality, and customer experience in a competitive environment. TCS leaders added that the engagement highlights the role of AI-driven solutions in enabling adaptive enterprises.
TCS, which has operated in Finland for over three decades, recently expanded its regional presence with a Nordic Pace Studio in Stockholm to accelerate innovation and prototyping for clients.
