Google Partners with Cashify to Sell Refurbished Pixel Phones in India

Google Narrows “Work From Anywhere” Option as Hybrid Rules Get Stricter

New Delhi: Google has appointed Cashify as its exclusive trusted reseller for refurbished Pixel smartphones in India, marking a significant development in the country’s growing re-commerce sector. Beginning September 3, consumers can purchase certified refurbished Pixel devices through Cashify’s app, website, and select offline stores. Each phone will be refurbished using Google-authorized parts where required, undergo rigorous quality checks, and include a one-year warranty to enhance consumer confidence.

The partnership aligns with Google’s broader strategy to promote circular economy practices by extending device lifecycles and reducing electronic waste. For Cashify, which already operates as a leading re-commerce platform, this collaboration strengthens its position in India’s refurbished smartphone ecosystem by combining its distribution network with Google’s brand credibility.

Industry analysts note that the timing of this collaboration reflects the increasing consumer appetite for affordable access to premium devices in India. A Redseer report projects the country’s refurbished smartphone market to reach $10 billion by 2026, driven by a surge in demand for sustainable technology and cost-effective alternatives to new high-end models. By partnering with Google, Cashify is expected to leverage its omnichannel presence to make refurbished Pixel phones widely accessible, catering to both online and offline buyers.

The initiative underscores a larger trend in the technology sector, where companies are exploring recommerce models to address affordability concerns while promoting environmental responsibility. For Indian consumers, the availability of certified refurbished Pixels provides a more reliable option in a market often criticized for inconsistent quality in second-hand devices.
