INOX Air Products to Invest Rs 500 Cr in Dholera Gas Hub for Semiconductor Sector

INOX Air Products invests Rs 500 crore in Dholera to build an Electronic Specialty Gas Hub, supporting India’s semiconductor and OSAT ecosystem with UHP gases.

Dholera: INOX Air Products (INOXAP), leading producer of industrial and electronic gases, has announced a major Rs 500 crore investment to strengthen the country’s semiconductor and OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) ecosystem.

The company has already acquired land in Gujarat’s Dholera, where it plans to build an advanced Electronic Specialty Gas Hub, now in the final planning stages.

The upcoming facility will produce and supply ultra-high purity (UHP) bulk and speciality gases, including nitrogen, oxygen, argon and hydrogen, critical for semiconductor fabrication.

Designed as both a manufacturing and distribution centre, the Dholera hub will ensure contamination-free, reliable gas delivery to semiconductor fabs and OSAT units across India.

This investment is part of INOXAP’s broader plan to expand purification capacities, develop import-independent supply chains for critical gases, and introduce advanced transport and packaging systems.

The initiative aligns with the central government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat missions, aiming to make India self-reliant in semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure.

Siddharth Jain, Managing Director of INOX Air Products, said the Dholera investment reinforces the company’s commitment to building a future-ready, domestic supply chain to power India’s semiconductor ambitions.

“With a pan-India footprint and decades of operational excellence, we are deploying our full engineering and execution capabilities to create world-class infrastructure,” he said.

It is important to note that INOXAP is already supporting India’s first semiconductor project in Gujarat by providing ultra-high purity gases and contamination-free delivery systems.

The company currently operates six large Air Separation Units in the state, producing liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon for diverse manufacturing sectors, including semiconductors and solar cells.

Needless to say that Gujarat is at the forefront of establishing India’s semiconductor ecosystem. The state’s strong infrastructure, including a reliable power grid, deep-water ports and a well-connected transportation network, makes it an ideal location for semiconductor manufacturing. Furthermore, Gujarat’s well-developed chemical and speciality gas ecosystem provides essential support to the semiconductor industry.

With its partnership with global leader Air Products, INOXAP is positioned to deliver the reliability, safety and precision essential for advanced chipmaking, marking a key milestone in India’s journey toward a self-reliant semiconductor ecosystem.
