Ahmedabad: Micron Technology has appointed Abhishek Garg as Director of Operations, strengthening its leadership team as it builds a larger manufacturing presence in India.
Based in Ahmedabad, he will drive operational strategy, governance, and manufacturing excellence across the company’s expanding facilities. The move marks a major milestone in his 20-year career in business and manufacturing operations.
Garg brings broad experience in large-scale industrial leadership, P&L ownership, and process optimization. His role will focus on improving productivity, supply chain strength, and long-term operational capabilities as Micron continues to invest in India’s semiconductor ecosystem. The company expects his expertise to support its plans for innovation and higher-value manufacturing in the region.
Before joining Micron, Garg served as Associate Vice President at Adani Solar. He led manufacturing operations across 4 GW solar cell plants that included advanced Topcon and PERC technologies. He worked on driving production quality, yield improvement, process compliance, and cost control while managing over 1,200 employees. His leadership helped strengthen governance, improve efficiency, and support sustainable growth in the solar manufacturing sector.
Earlier, Garg held the position of Director of Operations at Mara Phones in Rwanda. He managed high-volume electronics manufacturing, built strong operational systems, and supported regional supply chain expansion. His work improved competitiveness in a fast-growing market. He also played key roles at Dixon Technologies, Intex Technologies, and Beetel Teletech. Across these companies, he supported business expansion programs, cost restructuring, and quality upgrades. His decisions consistently delivered better revenue, margins, and operational performance.
Garg’s early experience at Samsung India Electronics, HT Media, and Moser Baer helped shape his technical and engineering foundation. He worked on ISO quality systems, cross-functional audits, new product quality, and supplier management. This background gave him a strong understanding of end-to-end manufacturing ecosystems.
With deep knowledge in lean practices, workforce development, and industrial strategy, Garg is seen as a strong addition to Micron’s India leadership. His appointment signals the company’s commitment to scaling operations and building advanced semiconductor manufacturing capabilities in the country.
