Matrix Geo Solutions Partners with DRIIV Foundation to Advance Geospatial and Drone Technologies

New Delhi: Matrix Geo Solutions Limited, an Indian geospatial technology and engineering consultancy, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with DRIIV Foundation.

DRIIV Foundation is the flagship Science and Technology cluster programme of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India and operates under the guidance of PM-STIAC.

Under the MoU, DRIIV Foundation will act as the project management partner and implementing agency, while Matrix Geo Solutions will serve as the delivery partner. Together, they will execute national and state-level projects for government bodies, public institutions, and third-party stakeholders.

Translating Research into Solutions

The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between advanced research and on-ground implementation. The framework focuses on developing and deploying solutions in areas such as drone and UAV surveys, LiDAR and 3D digital twins, GeoAI and spatial analytics, satellite data applications, and cloud-native GIS platforms. The partnership will also support collaborative research and development, along with capacity-building initiatives.

The MoU is designed to enable pilot projects, demonstration deployments, and government programmes that can later be converted into clearly defined and executable projects.

Execution Framework

As part of the agreement, Matrix Geo Solutions will be responsible for on-ground delivery, technology deployment, and project execution. DRIIV Foundation will provide programme management, institutional coordination, and support in aligning projects with national science and technology priorities. Both parties are currently identifying pilot initiatives that may be formalised into contracts.

Focus on Skills and Workforce Development

A key component of the partnership is training and skill development in drone and geospatial technologies. The MoU, valid for five years, supports joint pilots, research initiatives, and government collaborations aimed at strengthening technology-led governance and infrastructure planning across India.
