New Delhi, May 21(CXO Media): OPPO has introduced a new AI strategy with its latest premium smartphones. The company launched the OPPO Find X9 Ultra and Find X9s in India with a system that combines multiple artificial intelligence models instead of depending on a single platform.
Unlike many smartphone brands that build AI features around one ecosystem, OPPO has integrated Google Gemini, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and Perplexity into its new AI framework called Mind Pilot, available on ColorOS 16.1. The move signals a shift in how smartphone makers are approaching AI-powered assistance, especially as users increasingly expect more contextual and task-based support from devices.
The Find X9 Ultra and Find X9s include a dedicated Snap Key that allows users to quickly capture on-screen content or real-world surroundings through the camera. Once captured, the system routes requests to different AI engines depending on the task. For example, one model may handle search-heavy queries while another may process conversational or productivity-based requests.
This approach could help OPPO reduce dependence on a single AI provider while improving response relevance for users. The company has also enabled parallel AI processing in ColorOS 16.1, allowing multiple AI models to work together rather than limiting functions to one ecosystem.
As competition in smartphone AI intensifies, OPPO’s multi-model strategy may become a key differentiator in the premium smartphone segment, where brands are increasingly competing on software intelligence alongside hardware performance.
