Snowflake Unveils New AI Innovations to Power Enterprise-Scale Agentic Intelligence

Bengaluru: Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud company, has announced a series of major product innovations designed to help organizations deploy agentic AI at scale and deliver accurate, trusted insights.

The company introduced enhancements across its platform, including the general availability of Snowflake Intelligence, as well as advancements to Snowflake Openflow, Horizon Catalog, and several AI-native developer tools.

According to Snowflake, the updates will enable enterprises to connect structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data from multiple sources within a secure, interoperable environment, free from vendor lock-in.

Snowflake Intelligence: Enterprise-Ready AI for Every User

At the center of the announcement is Snowflake Intelligence, now generally available to the company’s global customer base of more than 12,000 organizations. The enterprise intelligence agent allows users to ask complex questions in natural language and receive precise answers, putting data-driven insights directly into employees’ hands. The company said the solution reduces guesswork and ensures that confidential information remains protected while driving greater organizational agility.

Enhancements to Horizon Catalog and OpenFlow

Snowflake has also advanced Horizon Catalog and OpenFlow, both now generally available, to unify data connectivity across sources and formats. The new Horizon Catalog innovations bring context for AI while offering a unified governance framework that secures and connects data across regions, clouds, and formats. OpenFlow supports seamless, secure data integration and ingestion, helping enterprises maintain centralized, up-to-date lakehouses.

By incorporating open APIs from Apache Polaris (Incubating) and Apache Iceberg REST Catalog, Snowflake now enables organizations to manage open table formats with centralized governance and access control. Additional capabilities, such as Interactive Tables and Warehouses and upcoming near-real-time streaming analytics, aim to support AI-driven use cases like fraud detection, personalization, and IoT monitoring.

Developer Tools to Accelerate AI App Development

Snowflake also rolled out new developer tools to help organizations build, test, and deploy AI applications faster and more securely. Among these, Cortex Code (in private preview) acts as an AI assistant within the Snowflake UI, allowing users to interact with their data environment using natural language to optimize queries and manage resources efficiently.

Enhancements to Cortex AISQL (now generally available) and Dynamic Tables (also generally available) allow developers to create scalable AI inference pipelines through simple SQL queries. The upcoming AI Redact feature will let users automatically detect and remove sensitive data from unstructured datasets to ensure privacy compliance.

Other updates include the general availability of Workspaces, Snowflake’s unified development environment with integrated Git and VS Code support, and dbt Projects on Snowflake, enabling seamless data transformation workflows within the platform. In addition, Snowpark Connect for Apache Spark (now generally available) lets organizations run existing Spark code securely on Snowflake’s engine, reducing complexity and cost.

With these updates, Snowflake aims to help enterprises integrate AI more deeply into their operations while maintaining security, governance, and interoperability.
