Ajay Kumar Pandey has been designated as Chief Executive Officer( Power) at Vedanta Limited – Aluminium Business, taking charge of one of India’s largest captive power portfolios at the Jharsuguda facility.
Pandey has over 25 years of experience in a variety of industries, including supply chain management, thermal power generation, coal procurement, strategic operations, and ESG frameworks. He will be leading Vedanta’s drive for operational excellence and sustainable energy practices in his new post.
Prior to this elevation, Pandey served as Chief Operating Officer – Power at Vedanta Resources Limited, where he led significant improvements in plant digitization, ash management, and cost optimization.
His tenure across various leadership roles within the Vedanta Group, including at Balco, as Head of Health, Safety & Fire, and leadership of Captive Power Plants, showcases his proven ability to scale operations. Starting his career at ACC Cement and Malco, Pandey laid a strong technical foundation that continues to inform his leadership.
His designation underscores Vedanta’s focus on nurturing internal talent to drive strategic growth in its power and energy verticals.
