Bengaluru: Wipro Limited has announced the appointment of Sandeep Dhar as the Global Head of its Global Capability Centre (GCC) practice. The appointment highlights Wipro’s strategic intent to enhance its consulting-led and AI-powered offerings to support global enterprises in building and transforming next-generation GCCs. In his new role, Dhar will report to Sanjeev Jain, Chief Operating Officer of Wipro Limited, and will be responsible for driving the company’s global GCC strategy.
With over 30 years of experience in the GCC and consulting ecosystem, Dhar is widely regarded as a transformational leader. He has previously held leadership roles at major organisations, including Tesco and Goldman Sachs Consumer Bank. At both firms, he played a pivotal role in setting up and scaling GCCs into strategic centres of innovation, with a focus on P&L management, digital transformation, and engineering excellence. His experience spans diverse industries and includes a strong focus on value creation through technology, operations, and people.
Dhar’s appointment comes at a time when enterprises globally are reimagining GCCs—not just as cost-efficient operational hubs, but as core enablers of innovation, digital transformation, and competitive differentiation. His deep understanding of the global services landscape, combined with his proven track record of scaling high-impact GCCs, positions him well to steer Wipro’s ambitions in this space.
Wipro’s GCC services span from strategy and site selection to setup, scale-up, optimisation, and exit. The company offers a comprehensive suite of capabilities, including AI, automation, cloud, cybersecurity, engineering, and analytics, to help enterprises build agile, resilient, and future-ready centres.
