Deepa Sebastian to Drive People Strategy as New CHRO at Apraava Energy

New Delhi: Deepa Sebastian has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Apraava Energy, an integrated energy solutions provider. She takes over for Gopinath Govindan, who led the company’s human resources department for 17 years before retiring.

Sebastian has been with Apraava for more than 16 years and has more than 20 years of expertise. Most recently, he was the Senior Vice President of Human Resources. She has been instrumental in establishing a strong people-first culture, spearheading efforts in the areas of talent management, diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), and improving the general work experience during her time there.

Sebastian will oversee Apraava’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Corporate Communications, and Human Resources departments in her new position. Her hiring demonstrates Apraava’s dedication to developing domestic leaders and creating a workforce prepared for the future.

“With Deepa’s vision and direction, I’m confident that Apraava will reach new heights and continue to strengthen its position as an employer of choice,” said Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, Managing Director, Apraava Energy. “I would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Gopinath for his invaluable contributions. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping the foundation of our people function. We wish him all the very best in his next chapter.”
