New Delhi: Amazon Web Services (AWS) has expanded its space-focused accelerator program to support startups in Australia, India, and Japan, as the Asia Pacific region’s space economy shows steady growth.
The new 10-week program, called AWS Space Accelerator: APJ 2025, aims to assist up to 40 startups working on space technologies. The initiative, which follows the company’s India-focused accelerator in 2024, is part of a broader effort to help startups build, test, and scale their space-related innovations without incurring heavy upfront costs.
The program is open to early to mature stage startups from Australia, New Zealand, India, and Japan, with applications open from July 8 to September 5, 2025. Startups selected for the program will receive technical support, business mentorship, AWS cloud credits, and opportunities to connect with potential investors and industry partners.
The accelerator is targeting startups working on:
Earth Observation and Remote Sensing: Using satellite imagery and sensor data for agriculture, climate monitoring, disaster response, and infrastructure.
Space Infrastructure Development: Innovating in satellite manufacturing, propulsion, and launches.
Drone Technologies: Developing drones and high-altitude systems that complement satellites for data gathering and communications.
The program will be delivered both virtually and in-person starting in September 2025, ending with a demo day in December 2025. The AWS Space Accelerator: APJ 2025 is being run in partnership with several organizations including:
T-Hub (India): Managing the program in India.
Minfy Technologies: Offering AWS education in India and Australia.
Fusic (Japan): Providing technical support in Japan.
Ansys: Assisting with simulation and design for spacecraft.
Australia Space Agency, IN-SPACe (India), SKY Perfect JSAT (Japan), and iLAuNCH (Australia): Supporting the program through expertise and infrastructure.
This collaboration reflects AWS’s strategy to work alongside governments, academia, and private firms to foster the region’s space industry.
