New Delhi: Cloudera has announced the latest release of Cloudera Data Services, enabling enterprises to run AI workloads within their own data centers. The update brings generative AI capabilities on-premises, allowing organizations to retain full control over sensitive data while accelerating AI adoption.
As security and governance remain major barriers to enterprise AI deployment, Cloudera’s new offering allows businesses to avoid external cloud dependencies. The release includes Cloudera AI Inference Service, now embedded with NVIDIA NIM microservices, and Cloudera AI Studios, a low-code platform to develop and deploy GenAI applications. Both tools were previously available only in the cloud.
This move aligns with findings from Accenture, which noted that 77% of enterprises lack adequate AI security frameworks. A Forrester Consulting study commissioned by Cloudera further highlights potential operational benefits, including an 80% reduction in time-to-value, up to 35% cost savings, and hardware utilization improvements from 30% to 70%.
The offering is designed for organizations operating in regulated industries or requiring data sovereignty. It enables consistent deployment across hybrid environments, supporting containerized, cloud-native workloads behind the firewall.
Early adopters such as Indonesia’s BNI have cited the service’s compliance with regulatory standards and enhanced efficiency for AI initiatives.
Cloudera’s shift toward on-premises AI deployment reflects growing enterprise demand for secure, scalable, and flexible data solutions that reduce risk without slowing innovation.
