Samsung Starts Selling Refurbished Galaxy Phones in India with 1-Year Warranty; Premium Devices to Cost Less

Samsung Starts Selling Refurbished Galaxy Phones in India with 1-Year Warranty; Premium Devices to Cost Less

New Delhi, May 12(CXO Media): Buying a premium Samsung phone may now cost less in India. Samsung has started selling refurbished Galaxy smartphones through its new ‘Certified Re-Newed’ programme, targeting buyers looking for flagship features without paying full price.

The move puts Samsung directly into India’s growing refurbished smartphone market, where demand for premium phones at lower prices has increased amid rising smartphone costs.

Through the programme, buyers can purchase refurbished Galaxy devices, including premium and mid-range models, with company-backed checks and warranty support.

Why Samsung’s Refurbished Phone Push Matters

Unlike regular second-hand smartphones sold through local sellers or resale platforms, Samsung said its Certified Re-Newed devices undergo in-house testing, software validation and inspection before being resold. The phones are repaired using genuine Samsung parts and packed in new boxes after complete data removal.
A key difference is the one-year manufacturer warranty, which could appeal to consumers hesitant to buy used smartphones due to concerns around battery health, software support and hidden defects.

Samsung Targets Budget-Conscious Premium Buyers

Commenting on the launch, Sumit Walia, Vice President and Head of D2C Business & Corporate Marketing at Samsung India, said the programme is aimed at expanding access to Galaxy devices while maintaining quality standards. “We are focused on expanding access to our technology while maintaining the quality and reliability that consumers expect from Galaxy devices. The Certified Re-Newed programme offers a trusted pathway to premium experiences at more accessible price points,” he said.

The launch also reflects changing buying patterns in India, where consumers increasingly look for older flagship smartphones instead of new mid-range devices. Samsung’s refurbished Galaxy programme will be available through Samsung’s website and Samsung Shop app.
