HP Brings OmniPad 12, AI Keyboard PC To India As Race For AI Devices Heats Up

New Delhi, May 11(CXO Media): HP has expanded its artificial intelligence (AI) device lineup in India with the launch of the OmniPad 12 and EliteBoard G1a, signalling a sharper focus on AI-powered computing as brands compete for students, professionals, and hybrid workers.
The launch includes more than 20 products and workplace solutions, but the company’s entry into new device categories is likely to draw the most attention. HP introduced the OmniPad 12, a detachable tablet-PC hybrid aimed at students, first-time PC users, and small businesses looking for portable computing options.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and running on Android, the HP OmniPad 12 features a detachable keyboard, a 12-inch touchscreen display, and claimed battery life of up to 18 hours. The launch comes at a time when technology brands are increasingly pushing lightweight, productivity-focused devices amid rising demand for affordable computing tools in India.
HP Focuses On AI PCs In India
HP also introduced the EliteBoard G1a, which the company describes as an AI keyboard PC, expanding its portfolio beyond traditional laptops and desktops. Powered by AMD processors, the device supports up to 50 TOPS of neural processing unit (NPU) performance, reflecting the growing emphasis on on-device AI capabilities.
The company also refreshed its EliteBook, ProBook and OmniBook series with Intel, AMD and Qualcomm-powered AI PCs for enterprise users and creators. Alongside new workstations and conferencing tools, the launch highlights how PC makers are increasingly positioning AI features and hybrid work capabilities as central to their India strategy.
