New Delhi: Samsung India has broadened its Samsung Care+ service to offer extended warranty plans for home appliances, adding a wider range of consumer products under its protection portfolio. The plans, now available for refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, microwave ovens, and smart TVs, can be extended from one to four years, with daily costs starting from around Rs 2.
The expanded service introduces coverage for software updates and screen malfunctions without physical damage, an inclusion not commonly found in appliance warranty plans. This move signals Samsung’s effort to address growing consumer demand for integrated hardware and software support in connected home devices.
According to Ghufran Alam, Vice President of Digital Appliances at Samsung India, the initiative aims to “enhance the ownership experience” by offering consistent after-sales service and broader warranty options across retail and online channels.
Industry observers note that with home appliances increasingly incorporating smart features, extended software and display protection has become a critical differentiator among electronics brands. Samsung’s move appears to target this evolving segment while reinforcing consumer trust through its established service network.
Samsung Care+ currently operates through over 2,500 service centres and 13,000 certified engineers across India. The service also offers multilingual customer support in nine Indian languages and enables users to track service requests and maintenance schedules through the Samsung app.
The company’s emphasis on reliability and accessibility aligns with the broader trend of consumer electronics firms expanding post-sale ecosystems, suggesting growing competition in India’s extended warranty and appliance care market.
