Chennai: Sify Technologies Limited, a leading Indian digital ICT solutions provider, has announced the appointment of Dr. Ram Sewak Sharma as a director on its board.
The company, known for its services in data centers, cloud, networks, security, and digital transformation, aims to leverage Dr. Sharma’s vast public sector and technology expertise.
Dr. Sharma, a 1978-batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service (Jharkhand cadre), brings over four decades of experience in governance, ICT policy, and digital transformation. As the founding Director General and Mission Director of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), he was instrumental in conceptualizing and launching Aadhaar. His contributions to India’s telecom and digital landscape include serving as the chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and as Secretary of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology.
Dr. Sharma holds a master’s degree in mathematics from IIT Kanpur, a master’s in computer science from the University of California, Riverside, and a PhD from IIT Delhi. He is also the author of Making of Aadhaar: World’s Largest Identity Platform, a chronicle of the Aadhaar journey.
Sify believes Dr. Sharma’s addition to the board will significantly enhance its strategic direction and digital innovation capabilities.
